not nev's worldstatus: active initial summary: project haunted town is a top-down strategy game about haunting a town. it's being made in GameMaker, and i'm aiming for a small scope although ambition is creeping in. the core gameplay loop involves enticing people into your haunted house and scaring them to death, then using their souls to increase your Haunt Power (HP). HP can be used to haunt other buildings in the town and possess npcs. every haunted building has a fear, infamy and danger stat which determines how the npcs react to it. these stats are affected by the strategy you use to haunt, and can at times make it necessary to adjust your playstyle accordingly. |
