february 18, 2026i'm thinking that Long Haul Rocket Fall should take more of a backseat while i work on project haunted town, which has made good progress in the last week. recent revelations have made it clear that the game certainly has the potential for a more polished Steam release down the line if done correctly (am i getting in over my head?) project haunted town is now: Not Nev's World the newly developed concept of the game is similar to what it was before: you still play as a paranormal entity trying to haunt an entire town. only that now, when starting out, you are introduced to the dislikable character Nev who hosts a daily podcast about the latest paranormal events in the town. armed with his thrift-store camera, he is convinced that he can prove to the world that the town is haunted. the player must be wary of Nev and his persistent attempts to record paranormal activity. if Nev manages to record the player's actions, he will upload the footage to his podcast and gain more subscribers. at various subscriber milestones, Nev will be able to buy new equipment that allows him to more easily detect player activity. ultimately, if Nev gains enough subscribers, he upgrades to a spirit-capturing device (inspired by the classic ghost trap from Ghostbusters and Poltergeist 3000 from Luigi's Mansion) which can capture the player's spirit and end the game. if the player is successful in haunting the town without being caught by Nev, their power becomes immense. Nev runs to the church to seek the priest's help, and, well the rest i won't spoil. i'll just say that the ending is unexpected and bizarre. there's lots to do, and learn. i couldn't have gotten this far without the immense support and creative ideas from Nat and Tom! many thank yous to you both pretty hyped to get this going. made a mockup title screen already
